How much is Jesus worth to you? Such an odd question. What was Jesus worth to Judas? Judas sold Jesus out for 30 pieces of silver.
We sell Jesus for the amount of our will, and control of our lives.
He will never force us to give up control. He’ll never force us to surrender our will. He will never rip it out of our hands and make us do what He needs, or wants us to do. He loves us enough to let us go to hell.
He promised us, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” And, He doesn’t, but we are so quick to walk away as soon as we are asked to do something that we don’t want to. Or, maybe it doesn’t make sense to us, so we refuse to do it.
The most spiritual thing we can do, is surrender completely to His will. Anything less than full surrender, is rebellion.
Biblically, being spiritual, means I am led by the Spirit and empowered by the Spirit. Not one or the other, but both. I surrender the leading of my life to Jesus, and I am acutely aware that, “Without Me you can do NOTHING.” (John 15:5) So, I also surrender control to Him and allow Him to empower me.
Surrender. Yield. Submit. Obey. Sacrifice.
